I kinda wanna makeout with her more than I do Johnny Depp. Love her style, her gap, her voice--and the fact that she's forty and the mother of two.

Laura Mauk: I've written and/or edited for Paper, Bookforum, Allure, Architectural Digest and Western Interiors & Design magazines. I'm now married and a mama. My family is one part Mexican, Scottish and Danish (that's me); one part West Indian (my husband is from the British Virgin Islands); and two parts all of the above (my not-so-spitting images, Sabine and Zadie). In the words of one of my in-laws, we are "all mixed up." This is a record of our life and adventures--currently, in the city of Baltimore.
